Dr. Michael Halasa
Dr. Michael Halasa brings a unique perspective to dentistry, combining his background in electrical and computer science engineering with his passion for patient care. After graduating from Ohio State University with his engineering degree, Dr. Halasa worked briefly as an engineer before realizing his true calling was to work directly with people and make a tangible difference in their lives. Inspired by his hometown dentist, who served as a role model, he returned to Ohio State to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, drawn by the natural connection between the physics and engineering principles he loved and the art of dentistry.
Dr. Halasa recently purchased Marysville Family Dentistry in June 2025. What he loves most about his work is the rewarding feeling that comes from building long-lasting relationships with patients and genuinely improving their lives. He's equally passionate about his team, surrounding himself with caring, dedicated people who brighten each day and share his commitment to excellent patient care.
When he's not in the office, Dr. Halasa enjoys spending time with his wife, Meredith, and their family. His engineering roots still shine through in his hobbies. He loves computer programming, app development, and game development. He's also an avid reader and enjoys diving into a good book.
Fun fact: Before settling in Marysville, Dr. Halasa and his family spent two years in Denver following dental school, then moved back to Ohio to be closer to family. His journey from engineer to dentist to practice owner reflects his commitment to finding meaningful work that allows him to connect with and serve his community!
Meredith
Wife & Operations Manager
Meredith serves as the operations manager at Marysville Family Dentistry, where she keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene, she has been working in the dental field since 2019 and joined the practice in July 2025.
In her role, Meredith manages the day-to-day operations and provides hands-on support for the team, ensuring both staff and patients have everything they need. She was drawn to dentistry because she wanted to work with her hands, doing something tactile while making a meaningful difference in her community. Dental hygiene checked all those boxes!
What Meredith loves most about working at Marysville Family Dentistry is the team itself. "This team has fun!" she says. "There is always laughter in our office, and everyone genuinely enjoys each other's company." That positive energy creates a welcoming environment that patients can feel the moment they walk through the door.
When she's not at the office, you'll likely find Meredith with her Kindle in hand or listening to an audiobook. She's an avid reader who always has a good book going. She also enjoys getting creative with arts and crafts, whether it's coloring, painting, or trying out new projects.
Fun fact: Meredith has her real estate license! Her diverse skills and warm personality make her an essential part of what makes Marysville Family Dentistry such a special place.
Shellie
Treatment Coordinator
Shellie is the financial and insurance coordinator at Marysville Family Dentistry, serving as a friendly voice and helpful resource for patients navigating the financial side of their dental care. She handles everything from scheduling and verifying insurance benefits to troubleshooting claims and managing accounts, all with a smile and a commitment to making the process as smooth as possible.
A graduate of Harding University with a bachelor's degree, Shellie began her dental career in 2018 and joined the Marysville Family Dentistry team in fall 2024. She was drawn to the dental field because it allowed her to use her office experience while continuously learning something new every day. She hasn't looked back since!
What Shellie treasures most about her work is the family feel of the practice. "We're genuine people who are consistently laughing together and sincerely getting to know what's going on in each other's lives," she says. That warmth extends to every patient interaction, making even insurance questions feel a little less daunting.
Outside the office, Shellie enjoys exploring COSI and the zoo, attending concerts, and traveling whenever possible. She's also creatively inclined—you might find her working on painting projects or tackling DIY endeavors around the house.

Stacy
Dental Hygienist
Stacy joined the Marysville Family Dentistry team in 2024, bringing nearly two decades of dental hygiene experience to the team. A graduate of Ohio State University, she has been passionate about dental hygiene since 2006, driven by her belief in the powerful connection between oral health and overall well-being.
What Stacy loves most about her role is the opportunity to truly get to know her patients. She values building genuine connections and helping people understand how caring for their smiles impacts their whole-body health.
Outside the office, Stacy is a dedicated mom who loves cheering on her kids as they participate in piano, soccer, and cheer activities. In fact, she's currently coaching her daughter's cheer squad for flag football, adding "coach" to her list of talents! When she's not on the sidelines, you might find her enjoying a Broadway show. This is her second year as a season ticket holder for Broadway Across Columbus, and she loves experiencing live theater throughout the season.

Mataya
Dental Assistant
Mataya joined Marysville Family Dentistry in 2024, fulfilling a dream she's had since childhood of working in the dental field! After receiving her training through the Columbus Dental Society, she discovered her calling as a dental assistant, where she makes a real difference in people's lives every single day.
Mataya's primary goal is straightforward yet meaningful: ensuring every patient feels comfortable and fully understands their treatment. What she loves most about her job is helping patients feel better about their smiles and working alongside some of the most supportive people you'll ever meet. Her warm, caring approach puts patients at ease from the moment they sit in the chair.
When she's not at the practice, Mataya stays busy with her second job serving and spending time at her church, where she's an active member of the community. She also enjoys the simple pleasures in life. For example, you might find her relaxing with a coloring book or working through word crosses to unwind.
