Get to Know Dr. Himler
Dr. Himler is a 1985 cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. Following graduation he completed a one year General Practice Residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. In 2010 Dr. Himler earned his Mastership Status from the Academy of General Dentistry, becoming the only dentist in Union County to have ever achieved this status. He received his Mastership Status in July 2010, at the Academy of General Dentistry's Annual Conference. Dr. Himler is also a Sustaining member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, having passed the written examination for accreditation. He is also currently enrolled in the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry's Postgraduate Program in Esthetic and Comprehensive Dentistry.
Dr. Himler's professional affiliations include: American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Central Ohio Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Orthodontic Society, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. His local affiliations include Boy Scout Troop 355, Millcreek Church of Christ, and a strong supporter of the Union County 4-H Equine Program.
Dr. Himler is happily married to his wife, Cindy, of over 39 years and has two children. His daughter, Mindy, graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She has established her Veterinary Practice here in Marysville which opened in 2015. His son, Matt, is a graduate of The University of Akron where he majored in communications and marketing. He recently relocated to Toledo and is working with TTI in sales. Matt has also earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor given in Boy Scouts.
Dr. Himler considers the community of Marysville very important. He gives freely of his time to the community in many ways such as free dental screenings for area second graders in February for Dental Health Month. He is also a strong supporter of the Union County Fair and always buys livestock at the Junior Fair Livestock Sale and also supports the Union County 4-H Equine Program each year at the fair by funding awards for the 4-H Horse Show during fair week. He is also always there to help out the local Boy Scout Program here in Union County, currently serving as a Dentistry Merit Badge Counselor. He donates custom made laminated mouthguards for Marysville athletes and sponsors area sports teams and academic endeavors. Dr. Himler's latest endeavor is sponsoring an annual dog adoption day in October. This year's event will be at Coughlin Chrysler.
Dr. Himler's wife, Cindy, operates "Forever Friends, Forever Homes, Forever Loved," an animal rescue group. She is also working to help Logan County re-establish its local Humane Society.
